Many would believe that there comes a time in every cyclist’s life to hang up that bike for the last time and submit to a life of shuffle board and early bird specials down at the senior center. No one apparently told that to Robert Marchand. At an age where most people would just be lucky to reach, Marchand just set the World Hour Record for the category that had to be created just for him – 105+. You read that right, Robert is 105 years old and just rode 22.547 km (about 14 miles) in an hour. The record comes a few years after Marchand set the previous record for riders over 100 in 2012.

Chapeau Mr. Marchand. We hope to see you set the record for 110+ in the future!

I just hope to get to that age. Period. Screw, I’d be happy with a straw and watching the 165th edition of le Tour on the holograph projector.

Ken more than likely rides his full suspension MTB on the bike path during the weekend.
Pathletes know best though.

This video really does a great job of cutting any sort of excuse one might have when trying to get motivated to hop on a bike!

But back to Ken. You should pick up surfing. There are a ton of people with the same terrible attitude that try an ruin the sport/activity for others. Better yet.. You should probably just get more into video games or something.

Really Ken? Way to spoil on the man’s achievement let alone get to 105. What a hater. Smh.

Mr. Marchand – congrats and incredible! Oh, and as myself being primarily a mountain biker Ken, your comment is embarrassing. The roadies I occasionally ride on the trails with are the ones smoking by everyone else.

@Ken – I laughed but Pinkbike-like comments, such as yours, are typically not well received around these parts. I learned the hard way…
