Out front mounts are great because they put the screen closer to your field of view, keeping your eyes more where they should be while riding. They also look good, and arguably are more aero. But, they still require a bit of real estate on your handlebar, which may not work with some aero bars (looking at you, ENVE) or can be a significant investment that deters upgrading to a different diameter handlebar. Or getting a new cycling computer that’s a different size or model.

If any of those apply to you, or you just like a totally minimalist look, F3 Cycling’s new FormMount bolts directly to your stem face place for a clean look and solid attachment…

Arms are Injection molded carbon or kevlar reinforced nylon, over-molded onto CNC machined Stainless Steel sleeves for strength. The cradle/mounting area is Delrin for durability and positive computer fit without wearing down the tabs on your computer.

The design allows you to spread the arms as wide or narrow as you need to fit your stem’s bolt pattern, and slide the mounting platform in or out to accommodate small and large cycling computers. For phones and larger things, simply mount it to the top bolts with the arms angled downward so the platform sits just above the stem’s top. Even mountain bikers are covered since the design can be reversed to sit the computer above the stem instead of sticking out front.

They’re working on additional mount types to work with lights and smart phones, and a GoPro adapter that attaches underneath the computer will ship free to all Kickstarter backers. Additional computer mounts will be available separately if you change models. Check out their crowdfunding campaign and nab one for as little as $43. Normal retail will be $50, and they’ll be making it in America and plan on delivering just 4-6 weeks after the campaign ends if they can meet their goal.

I think that’s a pretty good design. Too bad no Di2 or EPS junction box mounted on the under side

I prefer k-edge steer adapters. They seem a bit safer

Hi Rixter, Tim from F3 Cycling here. We love the feedback that we have been getting though Kickstarter and forums around the internet. Helps us meet peoples needs. Di2 and EPS mounting is in our future design plans. The FormMount system is modular, so whatever we manufacture for Di2 and EPS will attach to the platform.

Finally one that will work with a GoPro and a Garmin Forerunner quick release all on a clean package! I am so buying one!

Well thought out, accommodating many stem face plate styles in one unit

Cool, I like it. A GoPro adapter on the underside would be cool too.

But they do. “GoPro: A modular attachment that allows your GoPro to mount underneath. See the prototype images below. The GoPro accessory is FREE to all backers.”

It funny how they use an Enve bar & stem and Enve already make a stem mount! Which is sweet

It’s a bummer that you can’t access the Lap & Start/Stop button on the bottom of the Garmin 520/820 when the unit is mounted in the most desirable position for most….inline with the faceplate.

Hi BK – Tim from F3 here – the cradle extends forward and you can reach the buttons if you have a 520/820. We have two lengths of arms (which both are included to Kickstarter backers) the longer set allows this as well as allowing the Garmin 1000 to sit in the low position.

Am I missing something or is there no way to adjust the angle your computer sits at with this?

I have two coming as well. The addition of the GoPro mount pushed me over the edge.

Hey Really nice looking design, but have you guys been testing this with people that actually use their garmins for training and lap/power? Looking at your pic on your website there’s virtually no way one could stick their thumb or any other finger between the front of the stem/stem bolts and the garmin with how close you have the garmin to the front of the stem.

How is one supposed to hit the lap button or start/stop button?

Not trying to troll. Just curious.

they also show several other positions it can be mounted in and offer longer arms, that being said, I have no problem reaching the buttons on my 520 on my current mount that is inline and very close to the faceplate.

Funded! Garmin 520 + 3T Arx II Team stem combo here. Looking to create additional bar space to mount SRAM eTap Blips close to stem for quick shifting while riding on bar tops. This solution is by far the slickest and most adjustable I’ve found yet (at least it appears that way from what I’ve seen here so far.) Excited to have the final product in hand soon!

Tim from F3 here – Thanks for the comments everyone!! Yes – the longer arms do the trick for those buttons – Kickstarter backers get both the long and short. We are excited to start producing. I know you will like this mounting system – clean up those handlebars!!

These already exist from Redshift. I would assume they fit any stem

Just a heads up this thing is a piece of crap and their customer service is non existent. The Garmin mount plastic broke after 2 rides and there goes a $500 Garmin. Cheap plastic. The GoPro mount has no nut so it just rotates, the mounting arms move around so it is impossible to get the mount centered. Too bad they made it from cheap plastic and rushed to get it out. Could have been cool if they tested it.
