WTB’s tubeless ready mountain bike rim collection adds a new 29mm internal width to two of its families. The new Frequency i29 joins 19, 21, 23 and 25mm inside width options, and the KOM i29 tops out the 21, 23 and 25mm widths. For both, you’ll find the new i29 measurement on 27.5 and 29er rims.

The Frequency rims use their I-beam construction and 4D spoke hole drilling to maintain a robust profile ride after ride. They’ll retail for $84.95 and weigh in at 570g (27.5″) and 606g (29er). The KOM rims are their lighter weight option, hitting the scales at a claimed 495g (27.5″) and 527g (29er) and retailing for $100. They lose the I-beam and get slightly thinner walls to make them a little racier. Available now.

That might make these the toughest aluminum wide rims on the market, toss up between these & Flows.

KOMs, on the other hand, are hand crafted from the finest brie. look at them wrong & they’ll bend.

I run KOM i25’s on my 29er and ride in some rowdy places. Never had any troubles… but I ride smooth.
