Last summer, Fuji floated an ultralight SL road bike that barely moved the scales at 10.9lbs. They followed that up with the new Gran Fondo for longer distance riders. Now, they’ve moved even further along the distance/comfort continuum with the Fuji Jari adventure gravel bike.

The alloy Jari is decked out for getting out, featuring a plethora of water bottle, accessory, rack and fender mounts from tip to tail. And it gets the latest specs with thru axles front and rear, a full carbon fork and flat mount disc brakes, too. Ready to adventure?

Internal cable and brake hose routing keep the lines clean and also keep them out of the way of frame bags. Top tube bento box mounts are just the beginning.

The FC440 full carbon fork looks suspiciously similar to the one on sister brand Breezer’s new chromoly Inversion gravel bike…which is fine, because scale typically means more affordable, and it’s a darn fine looking tapered fork. It gets stealth fender mounts with removable mounting tabs, but no rack mounts.

The top tube flattens as it goes back and gets a small shouldering pad. It could also protect the frame if you’re hanging it from a branch or something at base camp.

A third water bottle cage is fitted under the downtube.

The frame can run up to 700x45c tires without fenders, slightly smaller with. The seatstay bridge is a simple arched piece of flat metal, but still gets a hole for mounting a fender. Rack mounts sit above it…

…and on the dropouts just above the axle. The bend in the seatstays turns them into springs to provide a little bump compliance and helps them clear the low/flat mount brakes.

Look for it to hit retail later this summer, pricing and final spec TBD.

Lots of interesting touches on this bike. One of the most interesting top tubes around, especially with the bento box mount. I found the shouldering pad cute.

Looks like a good deal.

WTF, really?

I will readily admit and own the fact that I’m as much of a bike snob as anyone else on this site, but wow, is that a gorgeous bike…

How does that seatstay bridge fender mount work? It looks like the bolt hole is facing down. Do you still your fenders?

Wow. A bike I would actually buy from Performance.

My SKS P45 Longboards came with a sliding rear bridge with a vertical bolt hole tab. To use them with this bike, I think you’d have to bend the bolt hole tab into an L shape so that you can thread a bolt downward through it and the seatstay bridge fender mount.

Otherwise, you could make use of another piece of flat metal, suitably bent, to join them together.

If the Jari is as B.A. is my Altamira 2.1 and Cross 1.1, I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for availability. Fuji is hard to beat in the bang-for-the-buck category.

“Jari” simply means gravel or pebble in Japanese. I never imagined that this word could be a name for a bike. Jari from Fuji… sounds very funny for us Japanese. (I don’t mean to make a fool of it though)

What’s the tire clearance? Surprised they didn’t mention anything about that.

I recently purchase a Jari 1.3 and have found I need to slightly loosen two small parts (do not know part name or designator) on either side of the frame to pass the thru-axle for the rear wheel. Has anyone else found this issue with the Jari Frame or is Fuji having a quality problem.

Can you comment on the rear tire clearance? WTB has the Jari as being able to run 650b x 47 Horizons but I wanted to run 27.5 x 2/2.1 and wanted to know if the chainstays are wide enough.

I just bought this bike for light gravel touring. I liked the third water mount option in the down tube. But when I put the cage the bottle interfere with the front wheel. Any advise on water cages or bottle for this mount? Besides that I love this BIKE!
