If you’ve got it good for wood, you’ve probably seen some of Nisnas Industries’ other wooden grips and fenders. Or perhaps their stylish line of wood and leather cargo bags. Nisnas acknowledges that wood isn’t about to force foam/rubber grips out of the cycling marketplace, but for the urban rider who likes the feel and aesthetic of wood, they’re now providing yet another option in the elegant Dunstan grip.

The Dunstan is designed for better comfort and function than other wooden grips, and they’ve been able to drop the price by keeping production local, especially during their limited time pre-sale…

Since the density of wood simply wouldn’t cut it for off-road riding, these grips are intended for city bikes that cruise smooth surfaces rather than getting jackhammered down rock gardens.

Nisnas uses maple and other long-fiber woods to make a durable, one-piece grip that offers a little flex for a small degree of shock absorption. The grips include integrated lock rings that reportedly clamp quite firmly by gently squeezing the wood onto the handlebar. The outer end caps fit neatly into the grip, and look so classy you’ll be sure to install them both right side up, on the perfect angle.

As a company Nisnas Industries believes strongly in supporting their neighbors. Their grips are carved by local woodworkers, the end caps are made by local artists, and even the packaging is produced nearby. Not only is production kept local, but Nisnas also profit-shares with community groups performing social work with a particular focus on helping Arab communities.

The Dunstan grips are available for a limited time pre-sale (20 days left to order as of this psot) for $49 USD, which is 30% lower than Nisnas’ eventual retail price. Check out the grips and place your order here.
