Thanks to a tip from Bikerumor reader Eric, we spotted these rather new looking Oakley sunglasses on Mark Cavendish during stage one of this year’s Tour de France…before the wreck that took him out of contention this year.

The full frame design blends the open frame Radarlock style with the Racing Jackets favored by Hincapie back in the day and their goggles. The arms get a very industrial styling, which should look familiar to anyone that’s seen our factory tour. Check out more pics below…

The round “O” shape (not the logo) looks like it could be a pivot, perhaps rotating the arms downward to release the lens.

Speedy recovery, Mark!

UPDATE: Oakley’s rep had this to say about the new shades: “We’re excited to be working on this project with Cav, however we can’t share any additional info at this time.”

This might be the first look at the Oakley made Google glass.

I wonder if this is related to the ads they have been running, 2 pages which have lemond on one side in the 84 eyeshade then Cav on the other in the ’14 radarlock (this looks kinda like a combination of the two?)

Hmm – the very center appears to have a clip that could be a lens release as well.

A tad too HR Giger for my tastes.

Guaranteed to not come off in a crash. You might not see if anyone is beyond the rider directly to your left, however.

Perhaps they should call ’em the “Oakley Collarbone” …?
