Musgaurd Bike Fender

Love it or hate it, Kickstarter has given the cycling community dozens of great projects. Among them is the Musguard, a super minimal fender that attaches to your seatube with velcro, and can be rolled up and stashed on your frame once the sun comes out to play. The only caveat is that it’s low slung profile works best on bikes without a rear brake.

The  fender is die cut from a recyclable polypropylene (PP) plastic sheet and weighs only 40 grams. You can pick one up here in a wide variety of colors for $29.

Hit play if you’re into 80s kicks and hipster kids. More interested in a neat way to stay dry ? Then just skip ahead to the one minute mark.

Flite saddles are classic. Why throw it away after tearing the cover?

Should also work well on non-fixed disc-brake bikes provided they have a seat stay bridge.

Looks an awful lot like this (published by Bikerumor in 2012):

Only problem I see is durability. Those creases in the plastic will eventually split the more it’s removed and installed.

That’s more that a tear, the sponge soaks up water and if your ultra lucky you get moss growing out of the back of your saddle.

I have had plenty of cars that were “classics” basically because they were so old and sh1t.

$29 ?! Are they insane?

Ass Savers is currently putting their stuff on sale and I believe a new design is coming. They offer cheap shipping too.

It looks very similar to the Fendor Bendor, which I use on my road bike for wet training rides. It also works on bikes with brakes.

“Should also work well on non-fixed disc-brake bikes provided they have a seat stay bridge.”

I was just thinking that this would be a more elegant solution for my Crux Disc than the current seatpost-mounted atrocity that’s on there.

Been around for a while too.
Bought it but didn’t like the nasty scuff marks it left on the paint on the inside of my seatstays.

I really doubt it’s a copy of the Fendor Bendor. Much more likely that it’s a concurrent evolution.

This is just a shameless copy of the Fendor Bendor by WIT industries…

Great product! Durable and sleek and much better quality than Fendor Bendor which I owned previously.
