  • Brompton’s 2014 World Championships will be held at Goodwood Motor Circuit and Aerodrome near Chichester, UK, on July 26-27th.
  • This years’ Muir’s Ride will be May 15-18th and cover 200 miles following the footsteps of naturalist John Muir from the Bay Area to Yosemite National Park. This ride is fully supported and raises money for the Restore Hetch Hetchy organization. For more information and to register, go here.
  • Racer-X has announced 2014’s Enduro-X race series dates, including a new Summit-X benefit race.
  • Hincapie Sports has announced it’s 2014 Spring Racing Series dates for Greenville, SC.
  • Road.cc’s Fantasy Cycling league is back this year with prizes awarded by sponsor Wiggle. The season begins January 21st with the start of the Tour Down Under.
  • Rouleur’s “Rouleur Centenary Tour de France,” a special issue highlighting the 100th Tour de France in photography and special articles, is now available to preview and purchase.
  • Dash Cycles is having a sale on all of their padded saddles through January 22nd in honor of their new website going live. Saddles will be marked down to $399 from $465. See Tyler’s review of their Strike 9 saddle here.
  • Plotaroute.com is a brand new free online route planner that you can use to map and measure routes, specifically aimed at walkers, runners and cyclists.
  • There’s a petition on Change.org that asks the Georgia Bicycle Racing Association to reinstate 3 Junior Female categories to the 2014 State Championships. This is an important thing to do if we want to encourage our young female cyclists. To find out more and to sign the petition go here.
  • Giving back just got easier. KindHuman, the company that came up with the Take the Lead Cycling Scholarship, just substantially lowered the price of their carbon Kampionne to help get people on bikes, and give back. Originally $1924 for the frameset, they are now selling for $1495.

RE KindHuman Cycles… Looks eerily familiar to an open mold Chinese frameset that goes for about $500 on ebay. In terms of charitable donations, you would be better off purchasing the Chinese frameset and donating the remainder yourself to that same scholarship. Alas, I do applaud them for donating something in the fist place…
