American Cross, American themed bike.

You get special bike privileges when you’re the national champ. Katie Compton has her Stars and Stripes themed Trek Crocket 9 for being the national champion, but Kaitie Antonneau also gets those honors as repeating U23 women’s national champion (also the U23 Women’s road race national champ).  With black replacing white as the predominant color, Kaitie’s rig for the 2013-14 season is a little more subdued, but the Cannondale SuperX is still unique.

Check it out after the break.

Just like Compton and many others, Antonneau rode with a tribute to late racer Amy Dombrowski. The red, white, and blue theme extends to the Cane Creek 110 headset as well as the paint. Kaitie rides a Prologo Scratch Pro Dea saddle with TiroX rails on an aluminum Zipp Service Course SL setback post.

The stem and bar are Zipp Service Course SL as well, with a traditional bend bar with short reach. Like all of the Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com team, Kaitie rides SRAM Red 22 with Hydraulic discs and 140mm G2 rotors front and rear.

WickWerks chainrings are a common sight on many of the pro women’s bikes. When asked why, Cannondale mentioned that the availability of the ramped 44t chainring means a lot of female racers find the ratios to be ideal. While the frame doesn’t have an integrated chain catcher, Cannondale chooses not to use the SRAM chain watcher. Kaitie chooses to run the Crankbrothers Candy 11 pedals for more platform than the Eggbeaters provide.

In addition to the 44/34 gearing up front, Kaitie was running an 11-26 cassette with a standard Red 22 derailleur, chain, and Gore cables.

The disc brake Zipp Firecrest 303 wheels still have a brake track, and are built with the Zipp 6 bolt, straight pull hubs.

Tire choice of the day called for Dugast Typhoon Cotton tubulars – with a 32mm front and 33mm rear.

The Amy Dombrowski tribute is awesome!

Does Kaitie have to warm up between Johnson and Trebon to make sure they play nice?

Kaitie is about 5’1″ and riding what looks to be a 48cm frame at the max.

Ryan is 6’5″ and rides a 60+ cm frame.

And they both kick it. Just another great thing about this sport!

@NotAMachinist From what I’ve read, you are correct. 60+ is the only way to describe it as Trebon’s bike is custom geometry. 60cm top tube, 63cm seat tube, and different HT/ST angles from Cannondale’s current production geometry.
