Sure, there’s an app to get you to the nearest Citi Bike station, but New York City is probably not the best place to be looking down at your phone while riding.  Then there’s the problem of where to stash your helmet at the party.  Well, here’s a way to solve all that: hands free navigation with a psychedelic light show.  More on this project and FLORA, Adafruit’s wearable electronics platform here.

I can’t help but doubt its worth in real world application, particularly in daytime.

Flashing light in your face isnt ideal for safety, they could have made it audio which is bit less hazardous.
