DVO's Jade Rear Coil Shock and Black Emerald Make their Real World Debut

To this point, DVO’s new Jade rear coil shock has been seen in the form of 3D computer modeling and a teaser video. Now they’ve released photos of the real wold shock getting bolted up to Cedric Gracia’s Santa Cruz V10. The biggest change from our first look, at least externally, seems to be the addition of ribs added to the reservoir to improve cooling. From their photos the specs are listed as: 9.5 X 3.0, bladder system, high and low speed compression, bottom out control and rebound. In addition to the Jade rear shock, DVO also released photos of the new black version of the Emerald inverted fork.

See it all, including Cedric’s new whip after the break!

The Green accents on the Jade seem to match Cedric’s V10 pretty well.

This photo was obviously taken before bolting up the Jade, as it still shows a Fox shock on the rear. Prototype Gravity crank?

In addition to the green Emerald, there will also be a black emerald it appears. What’s missing from this picture? The titanium collet clamps that were originally shown on the prototype. DVO mentioned that costs of production may keep the collets off the production version, and while Cedric has them on his bike, they are definitely absent from this fork.

The new green Emerald lacks the collets as well.

Above, the user tuneable base valve, with high and low speed compression adjustments is removed from the fork. With the base valve so easily accessible without removing all of the oil, individual shim stack tuning is simple. Below that, Emerald legs wait to be assembled.

Someone remind me, can that fork be run without the guard/arch on the lowers, or is it a necessity?

It would probably be a little flexy without them considering it incorporates the loop stay.

29ers are old news. Either 650b or FATBIKE.

Yeah, not CG’s, he’s still on Production Privee components (bars, stem) and Mavic wheels.
