The last time we saw the Whisky No. 9 forks, they were basically prototypes still undergoing testing. Having passed testing, the all thru axle line up is slated for production and will be showing up on bikes soon. All of the forks feature a custom RockShox Maxle lite for the No. 9 series which are all 15mm. The cross fork will be offered in a 397mm axle to crown with a 45mm rake in tapered steerer only, whereas the road fork is offered in two options, a 367mm axle to crown with a 49mm rake, and a 367mm axle to crown with a 43mm rake, both tapered only.

More details, actual weights, plus info a look at Whiskey’s clothing line next.

With Jamin from Hayes’ help as a hand model, we got two of the samples Whisky had in their booth on the scale. While it isn’t pictured, the weights include the 15mm Maxxle Lite installed in the fork, and these are uncut steerers with the road fork on the left and the cross fork on the right. Claimed weights at 425 and 473 without the axle, so these aren’t too far off, especially if they are pre-production samples. As someone who has spent a good amount of time with road disc bikes, I’m excited to see the thru axles – stiffer front ends, and perfect disc alignment ever time. Road forks will retail for $650, cross fork for $595, and the 29’r fork for $425. In case you’re wondering, all forks are 140mm rotor compatible.

Originally teased back at Interbike, Whisky’s clothing line is finally getting off the ground with a bunch of smart, purpose built pieces that are stylish, but not over the top. The prices are also quite reasonable as well with jerseys starting at $45 and up, and short liners starting at $40, and actual shorts coming in at $50 and up.

You should continue to pimp Manitou’s new axle on every thru axle post. Yah, cause we all know Manitou is a market leader and standard setter.
