SyCip showed off a customer’s work-in-progress Unleaded 29er with a carbon top tube and seat stays that are sleeved from the inside for a clean look.

The headtube is stainless steel, which will remain unpainted – the rest of the metal bits will be painted and the carbon will be clear coated. Brake hose is internally routed with another port for rear gearing if he wanted it. It’s built with a PFBB30 that’s running a Beer Components EBB.

Normally, the carbon tubes are sleeved inside a lug or tube section. By putting them on the outside, it’s much cleaner looking.

Jeremy Sycip’s frames typically have a penny welded to the top of the stays, but they have to be 1981 or older because of the copper content.

Showing that you can set up the bike any way you want when you go custom, it has a 120mm fork and 142×12 rear end. This would be about $2,500 retail for the frame. It was also one of several bikes at the show with Kettle Cycles’ SiCCC carbon ceramic brake rotors.

He also had an all-mountain hardtail with long travel fork and dropper post.

And a classic city commuter bike with disc brakes, fenders and a very gentrified build up.

This dirt road bike used Ritchey’s Breakaway frame design to make it travel friendly.
