Diamondback Recalls Steilacoom Cyclocross Bikes for Possible Faulty Headset Parts

2013 Diamondback Steilacoom cyclocross bike recallDiamondback is recalling about 40 of their 2013 Steilacoom cyclocross bikes because they may have incorrect headset parts installed. The error could cause the steerer tube to fail and result in an accident.

Only the RCX model is affected, which retails for between $900 and $1,100 and was sold between August and September 2012 through Promotive, 3point5.com and independent bike shops. If you own this bike, stop riding it immediately and take it by an authorized DB dealer for inspection, or call (800) 222-5527 or check Diamonback’s support page a PDF recall notice.

Before anyone starts bashing DB and other brands about a fork recall, the “error” is that some full carbon forks has star-nuts installed instead of compression plugs.
