The SF Bike Expo in it’s 4th year is back again at the Cow Palace. The main draw is the massive pack of dirt jumps but don’t let that overshadow all the other cool events. Go for the jumps but stay and celebrate all the other two wheeler events including – the second annual SF Custom Frame Builders Show, the Cycle Showdown (vintage/classic BMX show), “Pedal Savvy” fashion show, fixed gear freestyle competition, and the Whiskey Drome (!).

Interviews with the riders and full calendar after the break.

AT’s Showdown is back for the 4th year at the SF Bike Expo in San Francisco, California. We’re bringing back the head to head style unique competition like we did last year, but to change it up this year we’re adding a couple of different features to the course. We are expecting heavy hitters Greg Watts, Martin Soderstrom, Andreu Lacondeguy, McCaul brothers, Ryan Howard, Casey Groves, Linus Sjholm and many more to return to dual side by side.

Showdown Roots
New for this year will be an AMATEUR competition for all the up and coming riders that aren’t quite ready for the big show. The course will be a four pack next to the Showdown jumps. Anyone can enter, but it is a first come first serve basis that will max out at 35 riders. For more information about the Amateur Competition click HERE.

What riders have to say about the contest

What do you think of the contest and why?
It´s a superfun and relaxed contest and the perfect way to end the season with your friends. I am very over traveling right now, but will travel over the pond anyway. I guess that shows that it´s a pretty damn good contest!

What is the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is definitely more towards having a good time then to win it. And that´s a great way to end a very competitive season.

Is the contest like other contest?
The comp and weekend have their own tweaks, always fun with something a bit different.

“Martin Soderstrom”

What do you think of the contest and why?
I think that the head to head format is awesome. It’s unique for a dirt jump contest and it reminds me of racing dual slalom back in the day…

What is the atmosphere like?
Atmosphere is mellow. It feels like a jam.

Is the contest like other contest?
Nope, AT’s Showdown is a refreshing detox from the hectic contest schedule that we go through over the summer.

“Tyler McCaul”
