While the new Noah RS stole the show at PressCamp, Ridley did actually have some other newness hiding in its shadow. The plain ol’ regular Noah got some love and attention for 2012, too, with updated chassis standards and some trick wiring/cable ports that pull double duty for electronic or mechanical drivetrains.

They also showered some love on their cyclocross bikes, giving the full range PFBB30 bottom brackets, tapered headtubes and more. Video above is for the Noah, make the jump for the ‘cross reel and a non-moving picture show, including frame and complete bike weights…

The Noah frameset weighs in at 4lbs 3oz with uncut fork and seatmast. The key differences between the Noah and Noah RS are slightly different surface treatments at leading edges to swirl the air and force it to flow over the tubes more easily. Oh, and that whole integrated brakes thing.

R-Foil vents pull air away from the wheel’s turbulence.

R-Surface strips are like sandpaper on the Noah, but more like gel blocks on the Noah RS.

Dual purpose ports work for either Di2 wiring or standard cable routing.

CYCLOCROSS

Their championship winning X-Night carbon fiber cyclocross bike comes in at 16lbs 9oz.

The mid-level (but still full carbon fiber) X-Fire cyclocross bike comes in less than a pound heavier at 17lbs 9oz. Spec is similar, so some of the added weight comes from the addition of a standard seatpost.

For some reason, I switched to metric. 2.26kg = 4.98lbs with uncut, full carbon fork and seatpost binder.

Ridley is awesome! Good paint schemes, especially on the X-Night, but this seems like a gap year. I’m definately not buying a new ‘cross bike until they start being spec’d with disc brakes and the rear hub spacing gets normalized.

Dig the full housing to the rear der. Can’t quite tell if they did it to the X-Night also, but prob they did.

Love it!!

Snakeboat – i just got my 2011 X-Night, and it’s full housing all over, including internal routing down the seat stay, pretty slick.

To the author of the post, i think you mean ‘Noah FB’, not the ‘Noah RS’, the RS = Real Seatpost. The FB has the cool integrated brakes. =)

No disks on cross bikes? He? Look at Merida and Focus whole 2012 range have disk brakes. I’m looking for cross bike now and as a customer I don’t want canti anymore…
