Craft’s PXC Thermal Top isn’t a cycling-specific piece, they categorize it under running and mention skiiing among its uses, but for cool weather cycling, it’s quickly become one of my favorites.

The inside is brushed for softness, including the collar and it works great on sunny days in the 50º’s with just a short sleeve base layer underneath. Above 60º and it’s great on its own. Jump past the break for more specs and features…

The dual front half zip uses a mesh panel inside to keep it from flapping wide open, basically acting like a vent, and you can zip it partially up or down from the top or bottom to let in just the right amount of air. If you do start to overheat, the chest pocket also uses the mesh for its liner and can let in a bit more air.

The collar is pre-shaped and fits very well and remains comfy even when fully zipped.

The back and sleeves are extended, making it a great cycling piece. The rear pockets are see-through mesh. I’ve worn it for both commuting and kickin’ around town as well as on regular road rides, and it’s great for both.  It’s a little looser in the lower torso than dedicated cycling gear, but not so much that it flaps around. The stretch fabric moves with you without any restriction or bunching/binding.

All in all, I like it a lot and have been wearing it frequently. Retail is $79.99 and it’s available in Red with gray stitching, too, as well as women’s sizes.
