Along with Answer Components, ODI was on hand to show off some new stems with their Flight Control Series of All mountain and DH stems. The long standing grip maker is offering beautiful new stems that are machined out of 6061 solid block aluminum, and should have a very high stregnth to weight ratio. Available currently in an AM 50, AM 70, AM 90, and DH 50 sizes, the new stem line will cover most of the popular sizes as riders go shorter on stems and wider on bars.

Ever wish there was a better way to figure out where to position your bars in the stem? ODI has the answer after the break!

If you have multiple bikes, or change out your handlebars on a frequent basis then you no doubt have done the whole “eyeball where the handlebar is in the clamp” thing so that you can get the degree of rotation on the bar where you like it. Some handlebars go as far as putting measuring gradients onto the face of the bar, but then most stem faceplates cover them up, and what do you use to measure those?

ODI decided that they would change that and offer customers who purchase both AM stems and Flight Control bars, a system for fool proof bar positioning accuracy. Each AM Flight Control’s faceplate has two sight windows that perfectly correspond to precision laser etching on the Flight Control handlebars. Simply line up the degree of positioning that you would like, and you’re done.

Flight Control Bar Product Features:

  • ODI’s Wingtip Bar Extensions (sold seperately) thread into handlebars to allow you to easily customize the overall width of your bars up to 1.5 inches
  • Precision Laser Etched Graphics
  • Constructed of 7075 T6 Aluminum, Lightweight with reinforcement where it counts most
  • Available in Black, Black Chrome, Blue, Red and Gold
  • Rise = 25 mm, Sweep = 5×9 degree, Length = Adjustable (700mm – 736mm) and (750mm – 786mm)

The DH stem didn’t have the sight adjust system, so I assume it is only for the AM series, although the DH stem is open enough in the front that you should have no trouble seeing the numbers on the bar.

All Mountain Flight Control Product Features:

  • Our exclusive Bar Positioning Clamping System allows you to hold your bars in place by tightening the top two bolts before tightening the bottom two bolts. This creates a truer clamping surface and helps prevent stress risers. Visual alignment marks on the stems allow you to match up to Flight Control Series Handlebars for easy installation every time.
