Thule’s hitchmount mainstay T2 Rack gets a few revisions. Last year they made the arms longer to accommodate 29er wheels, now they’ve added some security. Both arms’ locks are keyed the same, and if you add on the extra two bike carrier that’ll have both keyed the same, too. Even better, the locks come standard on it and the price dropped $30 to $439 for the basic two bike hitch mount and $319 for the two bike add on.

The cable pulls out of the arm and has a loose section above the lock mechanism to wrap around the frame. Detail shot and info on their all-new Gateway and Archway trunk-mount bicycle racks and the new 15mm and Lefty roof rack fork adapters (and more) after the break…

The keyed mech slides along the cable, and the end of the cable locks into the slot on the top. It’s meant for “run into the store” or “stop for a burrito” type security, not leaving your bike on it overnight.

Thule now has new standard fork adapters for their regular roof rack trays. They mount where your normal QR dropout fork would and lock to the trays, and there are versions to accommodate Lefty, 15mm and 20mm thru axles. MSRP is $40 to $70 each.

All future roof tray and mounts will use their Speed-Link attachment strap mechanism (the strap running under the cross bar is tightened simply by turning the gray knob and has been used on some Thule attachments for a few years). Not only is it quicker to attach, but it’ll lock on to keep your rack attachments from being stolen.

Here, Karl shows off the new Archway and Gateway strap racks with curved 1.25″ steel tubes. They both have independently adjustable arms so you can get odd shaped mountain bike frames on them without having them sit at weird angles. The Archway has an integrated cable lock and steel impregnated Steel Core cable that you can stick into your trunk to keep it from getting ripped off…which works because it has a hockey puck sized thing (being held in photo above) at the end of the cable. Both are available in 2- and 3-bike models with prices ranging from $139 to $199.

Nice to have an anti-theft system on the Archway, but doesn’t it ruin your car if it get’s pulled hard?
