…or, why this job rules. Pre-Interbike is a time full of postcards, invitations to parties and the occasionally totally awesome box of goodies sent with hopes of a mention. In this case, how can we not. Let it be known, industry, we’re suckers for free stuff.

What some of you may not know is that Clif makes a wide array of kid’s items, like their Z-Bars, Twisted Fruit and the new granola bars that came out late this past summer (which are delicious, every one). They’ve also got some new fruit/nut bars that are made only with those ingredients (top, center) and are pretty tasty, too. Want to know the best way to eat a Clif bar? Here’s my little “Recovery Bomb” recipe:

  • One Chocolate Brownie Clif bar
  • Two giant scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • Cover with hot fudge
  • Spray/spoon on whipped cream
  • Sprinkles optional

This very easily tops 800 to 1,000 calories and blows all limits for fat and sugar, but hey, you’ve earned it, right?  If you really want to dress it up, get some natural peanut butter (Costco’s organic version rocks). It’s usually kinda runny, so you just stick a knife in it, pull it out and drizzle peanut butter over your sundae. Prepare to rock your taste buds’ world. And to think, I just clicked to categorize this under “Nutrition.”

UPDATE: In other news, the S’mores flavor of the Z’Bars will now be available year ’round instead of just Halloween time due to popular demand by kids and moms everywhere.

See you there… well as long as they move Interbike to my house then I will see you there. If it’s still in Vegas… not so much.
