Shimano has unveiled their new top of the line road and mountain bike shoes, the SH-R315 and Sh-M315 respectively.

Both have uppers tailored from Rovenica leather, which is not only very strong, but very supple and combined with Shimano’s Custom-Fit heat moldable system, it retains its shape very well and gives the shoe a custom fit feel. The Custom-Fit process shapes the upper panels, heel cups and insoles.

The road version (above) uses Shimano’s high-end SPD-SL layout with a lightweight, rigid, hollow vented channel within the woven carbon fiber sole and a curved, anatomical last. The interior has a multi-layered moisture control mesh and anti-slip heel lining that’s knitted with metal fiber. Keeping it on your foot is a low profile micro adjust buckle and dual offset Velcro straps. Claimed weight is 523g/pair.

Mountain bike version after the break…

The off road model uses the same Rovenical leather upper, which also claims high durability and abrasion resistance among it’s its benefits. Same retention layout, curved anatomical last (also available in Wide) and anti-slip heel lining. The difference comes in the sole; this model gets an ultra-rigid, long-fiber carbon shank with tuned flex for hike-a-bikes. Comes with removable toe spikes. Claimed weight is 686g/pair.
