REI has awarded a grant of $10,000 to the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA) for the building of a developmental bike skills course in Grand Junction, CO. COPMOBA has planned for the park, which will include a pump track, jump lines, and a dual slalom course, to be near the Tabeguache “Lunch Loops” trailhead just outside of Grand Junction. The total cost of the project is projected to be $43,000, and donations are still needed to complete the park by October 15th. You can help by donating directly to COPMOBA, or by voting for this project (along with two other skills parks being built by COPMOBA) in the Pepsi Refresh competition.
