This Saturday the fourth annual Nocturne hits London, the hugely popular twilight criterium around the historic Smithfields Market.

Now sponsored by HTC, the men’s elite race will feature Matt Goss of the HTC-Columbia team, as well as the Rapha-Condor-Sharp team looking for a first home win in the event. Olympic medallist Ed Clancy and Tour de France vet Malcolm Elliot will be heading up the Motorpoint-Marshalls-Pasta team, with Rob Hayles and Ian Wilkinson leading Endura Racing. Sigma Sport, Pendragon-Le Col-Colnago and London Dynamo will also be represented.

Beforehand there’s the cat 2-3-4 support race, a longest skid competition sponsored by Tokyo Fixed Gear, and the infamous and excellent Brompton race, in which besuited competitors run to and unfold their bikes before haring round the circuit.

Plenty of thrills circuit-side, too, as Rollapaluza divert the huge crowds.
