Started by Julian Franco with the idea of providing custom and custom-fit carbon bikes for enthusiasts on a budget that wanted a more personal bike ownership experience.  Franco Bicycles’ latest creation is the Balcom Road, a full carbon frame with optional integrated seatmast that starts at $2,999 with SRAM Force and running all the way up to $4,999 with Shimano Dura-Ace or $5,299 with Campagnolo Super Record.  Two frame geometries are available to suit racers and endurance riders.

Full press release on this bike and its options after the break…

Named after the famed Southern California climb that sits in the company’s back yard, the heart of Franco’s new road bike lineup is their SRAM Force equipped Balcom. The Balcom is manufactured using Toray T-800 Carbon and is available with an integrated seat post. Franco Bicycles keeps their focus on the consumer by not cutting any corners on the build. Delivering the bike with a complete Force group, Ritchey WCS bars and stem, and Hed C2 wheels.

While the SRAM Force equipped Balcom weighs in at just over 15 pounds, for those looking for the ultimate lightweight bike, the top of the line Balcom is also available with SRAM Red, Dura-Ace 7900, or Campagnolo Super-Record. Framesets are also available separately.

All are available direct at FrancoBicycles.com and every complete bike purchase includes a free bike fit using Retul 3d motion-capture fitting system. The complimentary fitting ensures that every customer is on the correct size bike, with the componentry to match their riding style, and their new bike completely dialed in for top performance. This process ensures each and every Franco customer is personally tailored to their new new world class bike.

The Balcom is available in 10 different sizes and two geometries to fit riders of all types. Race geometry offers a classic fit for balanced performance over any terrain, with short chain stays and a low-slung front end for crisp power transfer and responsive handling. The Endurance models provide the same versatility with a taller head tube, so any rider can achieve a comfortable position without giving up a pro-style look and ride quality.

The goal of Franco Bicycles is to bring to customers cycling’s best price-to-performance ratio. That’s why the Franco Balcom and Franco Direct make no compromises when it comes to personal service, tailored Retul fitting, and all-out performance. Our bikes match the ride quality, performance, and durability of the industry’s biggest names. Only Franco Direct can offer the pricing of a consumer-direct model with real lasting value.
