Editor’s Note: We’re finishing up our review of the Moots RSL and should have it up next week…Spoiler alert: It rocks.

FROM MOOTS: The first-ever Vamoots RSL (Race Super Light) road frame is complete, being shipped today direct from the Moots factory in Steamboat Springs, CO to Above Category, a full service professional bike shop, in Mill Valley, CA.

The Vamoots RSL departing the factory today is a 52 cm stock frame complimented with a Moots 30.9 Cinchpost, the new RSL Stem, new decal package, and features the new Moots roadie gator headbadge.

Moots is celebrating this historic event with a “RSeLebration”.  After more than 18 months of research, design, product testing, thousands of road miles, and countless refinements, the first Vamoots RSL frame will be celebrated, applauded and admired this afternoon before it begins its journey with the local UPS driver.

Designed for the competitive racer/rider looking for the highest performance titanium bike available, the flagship 2.5 lb. (1134g, size 56cm) Vamoots RSL is the lightest and stiffest road frame ever from Moots.

“The new Vamoots RSL is built with absolutely no compromise,” said Rob Mitchell, president of Moots. “We challenged ourselves to design the lightest and stiffest titanium bike. Built with innovative technologies for lifetime durability, the new Vamoots RSL is the result. Added strength and stiffness in the low areas of the frame with minimal weight in the upper areas provide optimum power transfer and responsiveness from rider to bike.”

Handbuilt in Steamboat Springs, CO, from internally mandrel double butted and tapered Reynolds 3/2.5 tubing, the Vamoots RSL incorporates a Pressfit 30 oversized bottom bracket, a co-designed Moots/Alpha Q GS 40 fork, 6/4 titanium micro diameter seat stays, CNC machined 6/4 Moots titanium modified Breezer-style dropouts, CNC machined head tube collars and large vent holes.

Introduced to the cycling community on September 21, 2009 at the annual Interbike Trade Show & Expo, in Las Vegas, NV, the Vamoots RSL immediately received favorable press for design, integrated technologies, performance, and aesthetics.

Moots Cycles enhanced its road offerings for 2010 with the introduction of the new Vamoots RSL and the redesigned Vamoots CR (Compact Race) and Vamoots road bikes, creating frame models for specific rider profiles.
