2010-vaude-hydration-pack-hyper-airVaude, a company well known amongst hikers and outsdoorsy types, has introduced several new models for 2010 plus some well-featured cycling gloves.

The most visible new product is the Hyper Air 14+3 thanks to its obnoxiously bright yellow.  It features and Aeroflex back panel, which uses mesh back panel and lightweight steel spring frame to hold the body of the pack away from your back, and Vaude’s FLASH (Floating Length Adjustable Shoulder Harness) system so you can dial in the fit by adjusting the length of the padded shoulder strap sections. Other features include a helmet holder, coin pocket and blinky loop.  The 14+3 refers to the 14 liter capacity, which expands to add 3 additional liters.  For 2010, the Hyper Air adds several main zippered compartments and a design that’s more inline with several of their other bags.

Check out details on the Trail Light (left) and Northshore, plus their new gloves, after the break…

The Trail Light 9 is an XC racing oriented pack weighing just 440g.  It also features a helmet holder, coin pocket and blinky loop and adds a rain cover.  The pack’s outer material is a superlight siliconised polyamid fabric, and rather than a mesh suspension system, the Trail Light uses padding that contours around the spine to create an air channel, keeping it light and you cool.

The Northshore 28 is the biggest of the newbies and is made for alpine epics, freeriding and lift-assisted bomber runs.  The padding and suspension system keeps it closer in for better stability and balance, and the myriad side and bottom compression straps are designed to hold your knee, arm and shin armor.  It also has a built-in helmet holder and adds a padded MP3 player pocket with cable eyelet.

The Elite racing glove is a restyled version of their Contour model, and has gel palm padding, silicone grip patterns and nose/brow wipe on the thumb.  The finger pull is a nice touch.

The Parkride is a more technical, protective glove that shares the gel padding, fleeced thumb and silicone grips but gets a Velcro wrist closure and stretch pleates for better flexibility.  The back is a tough polyamide/polyester blend with some stretch added.
