manitou-circus-dirt-jump-dj-suspension-forkManitou’s jumping (pun intended) back into the Dirt Jump track with their new Circus DJ Fork.  Shown here is the Expert model in white, it’ll be available in non-adjustable travel options of 80, 100 and 130mm.  Stanchions are 32mm straight wall 7050 Aluminum and the legs only have a 20mm Hex Lock axle option.  The Circus Expert uses Manitou’s new Absolute+ damper with external lockout and rebound adjustment knobs, a ‘firm’ spring and dual bottom out bumpers.  It comes with four decal sheets and that red clown nose.  An ‘extra firm’ spring will be available aftermarket.

Weight is 4.7lbs (2,133g) and MSRP is $399.

They’ll also have a Comp level Circus DJ fork, specs on that after the break…

The main difference between the Expert and the Comp are an absence of a 130mm travel option and the Comp uses 4130 Chromoly stanchions rather than aluminum, putting the fork weight at 5.3lbs (2,406g).  That, and the Spring uses a mechanical (read: spring) preload versus the Expert’s air preload.  MSRP is $349.

Both forks will only be available with 1-1/8″ steerer tubes.

With these features, the low MSRP’s puts Manitou in a very competitive position against DJ offerings from others, including Fox’s new 831, which is more than double the retail price ($831) but is almost a full pound lighter and has a tapered steerer tube option.
