Interbike 2009 – Syncros Mountain Bike Components

INTERBIKE 2009 – Syncros mountain bike components had new products that covered the range from lightweight XC all the way to downhill and freeride ready.

Pictured above is the FL (Freakin’ Light) cross country collection that features:

  • a new, redesigned Micro-Adjust seatpost with longer rail platform and a reversible design
  • new matte UD carbon finish on handlebar and seatpost
  • new black clamp/head on carbon seatpost
  • new bi-ovalized profile and faceplate on stem

The stem, shown in the top photo, weighs in at 113g for 70mm and retails for $92 – $100.

The Syncros FL carbon seatpost gets a new black clamp head, weighs in at 210g and retails for $170.

The new alloy FL Micro Adjust post features the new clamp base plates to better support the seat rails.  Pictured above and below, the bottom plate has an extended section on one side to let you push your seat further backward or forward by simply flipping it around.  The 30.9 x 400mm post is 222g, and it’s available in a range of sizes and lengths with retails ranging from $84 to $103.

Syncros’ new AM (all mountain) line gets a new high-polish black finish option and Grunge graphics.

For Freeride (FR),  there are two new stems.  The FR Lo-Ball direct mount stem is lower and more compact.  It weighs 156g, is adjustable from 42mm to 47mm in length and costs $92.

The new FR Stem (right, click to enlarge) saves 40g over its predecessor by using a new faceplate and profile.  It weighs 194g and comes in Black ($67) or white ($75).

The new Crux pedal is made to take abuse.  It has 22mm needle bearings in the center with roller bearings across almost the entire remainder of the pedal.  The cut-away section with the replaceable studs in the center is very cool.  MSRP is $150 and they weigh 420g/pair.

The new Freeride FR DS 32 rims get lots of updates.  It’s a 32mm wide rim, and it’s now sleeved together at the joint rather than pinned like the previous model.
