INTERBIKE 2009 – While they first fully revealed it at Eurobike, Interbike was the first chance we had to get an up close and personal look at Niner Bike’s hot new Air 9 Carbon.

Featuring the world’s first fully interchangeable bottom bracket system, it lets you run various BB30 setups, Shimano’s BB90 and standard outboard bearing bottom brackets…and you can even insert Niner’s eccentric bottom bracket shell and run it as a single speed!

We figured there’s no better way to highlight the bike than to have Niner co-founder Chris Sugai run it down for you on video.  Then, hit ‘more’ to see the bike on the scale, weighed as a geared bike, a single speed and just the frame…

Niner Air 9 Carbon Single speed built with Niner’s tapered carbon rigid fork: 19lb 7oz.

Niner Air 9 Carbon geared built with SRAM XX, Reba XX, Thomson post and other normal-but-light parts: 22lbs 4oz.

Niner Air 9 Carbon frame only w/ no headset or BB insert: 2lbs 14oz.
