(AP) LOS ANGELES — Lance Armstrong is taking a bike ride in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park, and several hundred cyclists are tagging along.

The seven-time Tour de France winner began his ride early Thursday from the Los Angeles Zoo’s parking lot and planned to ride for at least an hour.

Armstrong posted his riding plans Wednesday on Twitter, asking people to “get out of your cars and get on your bikes.”

Armstrong has issued Twitter invitations in the past few months for cyclists to join him on rides in Glasgow, Scotland, and Plano, Texas.
