“On the last Friday of every month, cyclists happen to gather about the same time – 7pm or so – by the National Theatre at London’s South Bank, just under Waterloo Bridge. They then go for a ride, many of them by coincidence going the same way. It is not an organised event and has no prearranged route or destination. Here they are about to set off on a fine evening in July 2009.”
