VeloNews highlighted the difference between Garmin-Slipstream’s team time trial bikes and the bikes among typical European teams that don’t like to change setups between riders’ bikes. Check out the wildly different setups among three of Garmin’s top riders:

garmin_ttbikes-zabriskie Dave Zabriskie runs his set up tight, with minimal pads run very, very narrow.
garmin_ttbikes-hesjedal By contrast, Ryder Hesjedal runs his really wide and really tall. Surprisingly, he’s able to get this with only minor modifications.
garmin_ttbikes-farrar Tyler Farrar runs them averagely narrow, but angles his elbow pads inward.

David Millar’s bike is set up with thicker mountain bike grips.  For all the differences and observations, read the full article here.
