The Scott Plasma 3 TT debuted under Columbia-Highroad riders in the Giro’s opening time trial.  We showed you some concept video with this frame in wind tunnel testing in a previous post, and here’s the end result.

Scott claims it’s the fastest production bike ever made.  It uses completely internal cable runs and Shimano’s Di2 electronic Dura-Ace shifting with an integrated battery.  We’ve got lots of pics and specs, hit ‘more’ to see them all…

Extremely narrow profile.

Cables run inside the handlebar, into the stem and directly into the downtube.  They don’t pop out until the last possible millimeter.  The rear brake is pretty much entirely hidden from the wind, but it’s a regular road brake (some TT bikes use a linear-pull type road brake due to cable routing designs).

The stem and handlebar sit flush with the fuselage, both on the sides and the top.  Despite the extremely aero design, Scott says the entire frame (ie. all tubes) fall within the UCI’s 3:1 rule.

Despite the slim tubes, Scott worked closely with Columbia-Highroad team managers to ensure it would be laterally stiff enough for their riders to put the power down.
