Via Treehugger.com: Papergirl brings art to Berlin’s public via bicycle, for free.

The idea started as a way to bring art to the masses without subverting the law with graffiti or tags, and it’s become a way for artists to get their work out and gain some recognition, too.  The brainchild of Aisha Ronniger, Papergirl has an open call for artwork, which is collected over a few months, then distributed by a rolling cavalcade of cyclists.  The goal is to surprise people (pleasantly) and brighten their day with a piece of original art they can keep.  Before the ride heads out, all collected works are put on display for visitors to see.

Since 2006, Ronniger has received artwork from all over the world.  The next deadline to submit is June 17.
