BikeBins has introduced hardshell pannier “bags” made of recyclable polyethylene (aka: hard plastic) that are weatherproof, lockable and will stand up on their own.  The latter feature makes them easy to load and unload when you take them off the bike.

They come in the five colors shown and are designed to keep the contents safe and secure.  Click “more” to see additional features…

Features:

  • Constructed of strong and durable 2.5mm thick recycled polyethylene
  • Full 17-litre capacity
  • Camlock security system
  • Universal rack attachment system
  • Flat lid that secures to pannier body with nylon pull down clasps
  • Bungee cord eyelets to allow stacking on bicycle trailers
  • Carrying handle, plus shoulder strap
  • Reflective safety tape
  • MSRP $59.00 each (buy two or more, they’re $55.00 each)
Retailers can contact Lexco for info on carrying them in your store.

Hi,

I would like to purchase three of these great hard shell panniers/bikebins, do you ship to the UK and how much would the shipping cost?

Many thanks

Will these bike bins fit on a standard bicycle rack, if not do you sell the racks for these.

Thanks

Is there a way to lock this pannier to the bicycle?

I believe the recommended approach is to run a cable lock through the carrying handle. I’m waiting for mine to arrive before experimenting — but yes, this is a very important feature for me too!

How was it? Does the box directly lock to the bike without a cable or do we have to run a cable through the carrying handle and then to the bike.

Cool. It looks like some cat litter bucket panniers I made.
