Trek announced that they will produce two belt-driven city bikes for 2009, to be released in January.  We know these would make a perfect gift for that person that likes the idea of riding but just doesn’t want the “hassle” of bike maintenance (Funny, my mom’s bike seems to work just fine between my every-other-year tune ups for her…).

The Trek District is a single speed city bike, MSRP $930, with orange accents and leather seat and grips.

The Trek Soho, MSRP $990, has an internally geared 8-speed hub.
