Formerly only available as a non-tubeless tire aimed mainly at the urban/comfort bike segment that might occasionally hit a dirt park path, the new Bontrager LT2 Team Issue TLR gets a performance makeover to become a proper gravel bike option.

The biggest news is the addition of “TLR”, their acronym for TubeLess Ready. It also gets a narrower 32mm wide option to join the original 38mm, making it a potential hardpack cyclocross option, too. The LT2, which stands for “Light Trail”, uses a tightly spaced diamond knob pattern intended for harder surfaces where grip comes mainly from rubber contacting the ground rather than knobs biting between rocks and loam. The LT2 Team Issue TLR uses a butyl lining to keep air in with the aid of sealant, followed by a Hard-Case Lite puncture protection strip under the tread. It also has an updated, slightly softer rubber compound which is a bit grippier, but also helps with air retention. And a softer, more pliable 120tpi casing, up from the others’ 60tpi skin.

Retail is $59.99 each, available now in 38mm width (475g), 32mm (400g) coming in stock soon.

Also new but aimed at the urban/commuter rider is the H1 TLR. It’s a wire bead tire, but is tubeless ready, which fills a void in the market for riders whose bike might have tubeless ready rims but come with cheap tires. It’s a 700×35 tire with the same butyl lining and Hard-Case Lite protection, plus a reflective sidewall. Retail is $59.99.
