Friday’s Stage 7 of the 2016 Tour de France had a peculiar finish, with Orica-BikeExchange’s Adam Yates slamming into a perfectly timed deflation of the 1km arch. Mavic’s onboard moto camera caught (and got caught in) the action. From the video’s description on YouTube:

Watch the moment when Adam Yates, of Orica Bike-Exchange, hit an inflatable arch which collapsed as he powered his way towards the finish line in Stage 7. Yates, who suffered a chin injury, said later: “I had no idea I had hit something. Next thing I knew I was on the floor.” The race organisers, ASO, said the arch came down after a spectator’s belt became tangled in a cable supplying power to a generator.

As a result, race organizers called the race’s finish as of the 3km-to-go mark, putting Yates in second for the day and giving him the White Jersey. Yates took second Saturday (Stage 8), behind Froome, keeping the White Jersey and sitting in second place behind Froome.
