They are already underway and aim to accomplish the ride in 120 days as a Gap Year challenge. They’ve funded the trip entirely on their own, so all donations they raise will go to the ‘A Child Unheard’ charity. Follow along on the adventure at: BeijingtoTehran.com

How to Ride

  • Ride a virtual Giro d’Italia with Bkool – The online training and gamification team at Bkool is using their platform that lets cyclists ride and compete on any course anywhere in the world to participate in a Virtual Giro. The online system allows for real-time multi-player sessions so that a virtual race can be had at any time, between riders from anywhere, or cyclists can challenge the previous rides of others, and compete as if they were riding together. Their virtual Giro handpicked some key stages and shortened them for us mortals. But the essence remains the same, as cyclists from all over the world compete against one another on Italian roads at the same time as their idols. Looks like the grand tours aren’t just for the pros anymore.  Bkool.com

The software/hardware pairing gives users the ability to electronically count reps and monitor their heart rate during specified workouts. This latest platform will train users through coached strength workouts with rep counts, enabling increased measurement and analytics for a variety of cross-training workouts such as push-ups, squats, jumping jacks and more. PearSports.com
