The all new Light & Motion Seca may look familiar, but it’s been completely redesigned with a new lens and beam configuration, new body and new mounts. Alongside it is the new Imjin 800, which replaces the Stella 500 as their smaller but still very powerful headlamp.

The Seca will now come in 1800 and 2200 lumens, up from 1500 and 2000.  The bigger news is that they’ve gone to a four LED system, down from six, while still increasing output. That should mean more light for the same or even better run times…

There are three spot LEDs, similar to before, plus one diffused LED on the bottom to provide broader ambient lighting closer to the front wheel. The 2200 will come in Race ($399) and Enduro ($469) versions, with the latter getting a larger battery pack that boosts run times. Look for the Race to get 1.5/3/6 hours on H/M/L settings, and the Enduro increases that to 2.5/5/10. Both also have Race High and Race Low modes that fall somewhere in the middle of that range by adjusting the output and toggling only between High and Medium (2/4 hours for Race, 3.5/7 hours for Enduro). That lets you remove the low and pulse settings from the cycle while racing.

The new housing is completely submersible up to 1m of water. In the real world, that means it doesn’t matter how foul the conditions, it won’t bug out even in a downpour. The on/off/mode button has been raised slightly to make it easier to find with gloves on. Lastly, they’ve switched to a GoPro compatible mount, which lets it easily attach to the many helmets out there already offering a similar system.

The new Imjin 800 lumen headlamp replaces the Stella 500. It ships with 2-cell battery and has handlebar mount and GoPro mount for helmets.

It, too, is completely submersible in up to 1m of water. Retail is $199, run times are 2/4/8 hours on H/M/L settings, plus a 16-hour pulse setting.

Both ship May 15.

Yeah, I know. I’m not too salty. I’d love to retrofit GoPro mount compatibility, though, particularly for the Stella.

That Imjim looks like it has one long a** cord. Intended to be a helmet light, to reach a battery in jersey pocket?

Go-pro mounts just made these a buy for me. I have no desire to use something clunky when I’ve already got an integrated mount designed specifically for my helmet, not all helmets.

D*mn. I bet updates to the rest of the lights are next. I just bought a new urban and the add on go-pro mount it comes with is garbage.

New beam pattern–Does that mean you won’t be lighting up the tree tops and blinding oncoming traffic or is it just a reference to moving from 6 to 4 LEDs?
