In order to help you maintain proper torque while out on the bike, Birzman is expanding their line of M-Torque tools. The clever design uses a calibrated torque ‘button’ that snaps under your thumb when you’ve reached 5nm. After introducing the concept with their M-Torque 4, Birzman is expanding the torque capabilities with the new M-Torque 4 as well as the Ranger mini tool box.

More than torque, Birzman was also making some noise at Sea Otter with more tools, a new pump, and spoke tools that should hit the spot…

Like the M-Torque 4, on the 10 only the T25, 4mm, and 5mm Allens are part of the torque wrench tool. The other bits are still useful, but are not part of the torque assembly. The 10 includes a 2.5, 3, 6, and 8mm Allen, Phillips, flat screwdrivers and a chaintool and will sell for $32.50 this May. The 4 is already available for $23.40.

The Ranger uses the same concept as the M-Torque series, but does so with a replaceable bit system and 5 bits stored internally. All of the included bits can then be torqued to 5 Nm.  The system also includes two tire levers that snap together to form a nice little case. Pricing is TBD but it should be available in June or July.

The Torque Driver Mini is an interesting one in that it is a tiny multi tool designed to stash under your seat and clips to the saddle rails. Despite the name, it does not have torque capabilities but does stash 6 bits internally and includes a built in chain tool for a total of 13 functions. We’re told that a few things may change by the tie of production and pricing an availability should be known by Eurobike.

Finally on the tools, the Diversity 17 offers the namesake 17 functions with tire levers, chain tool, co2 inflator, and just about every tool you may need including a chain hook. Built with longer bits for easier access, the tool’s pricing and availability are also TBD.

The new Horizons Apogee is the pump for riders looking for more support but who still want a flexible hose that won’t damage the valve. Built with a flip out foot peg, the pump allows you to push against the ground to reach higher pressures, while the extendable hose with a built in gauge safely attaches to the tire with the Apogee push on head. The pump still folds up into a small enough package to fit in a jersey and will sell for $48.50 in July.

Adding even more options to their chain tool line up, the new Lighter Universal and Light-er tools are lower priced options than Birzman currently offers. The Lighter Universal works for 1, 8, 9, 10, and 11 speed chains and includes a replacement pin driver and chain hook which store in the handle for $32.80. The Light-er works with 8, 9, 10, and 11 speed chains but forgoes single speed chains and the handle storage to get the price down to $15.27.

Anyone who has ever had to work with a lot of bladed spokes will appreciate this one. Birzman will soon offer a cleverly designed spoke puck that fits around your fingers and provides four different sized openings to hold the spokes in place. The channels are stepped so the wider sizes are first, while skinnier spokes will slip deeper into the tool. The design looks to allow for quick repositioning of the puck without having to move the tool in your hand or risk dropping it mid-true. To go along with the puck, Birzman will have a run of professional nipple wrenches in the most popular sizes. Pricing and availability TBD.

The pressure gauge on the mini floor pump looks the same as the ones that Lezyne uses. And they suck. They don’t move smoothly at all, instead jumping in 5-10+ psi increments.
