Clothing Roundup

There may still be snow on the ground up North, but Spring is around the corner and the new gear is coming out of the wood works. Keeping dry is key regardless of temps and Showers Pass has some new “body mapped” base layers to keep you comfortable. Hincapie’s sharp 2016 line is trickling in and Endura has a new packable jacket for those early cool mornings at the start of your ride.

Prepare to Spring forward after the break…

HINCAPIE

Hincapie Signature and Aries

A favorite of George’s, Hincapie’s Signature line (left), is constructed of 110gsm Shoeller 4-way stretch fabric and features the traditional 3 back pockets with an additional water-proof zipper pocket that will even fit an iphone 6 Plus. The Bibs get a light-weight 190gsm 4-way stretch fabric to provide ample compression and their seamless Signature chamois with anti-shock gel & carbon construction should keep things dryer for better temperature regulation.

The new Aries Wool Jersey (right, $125), carries a look only wool could pull off. Made up of 52% merino wool with 42% polyester and a touch of spandex, the inner layer of the Aries jersey is the poly/spandex portion that touches your skin to to keep things less itchy. Available in both women’s and men’s the Aries wool jersey is available now on their site. We just got one in and it feels amazing.

Hincapie Edge Jersey

Hincapie’s sleek Edge Jersey gets updated for 2016 with new fabrics and a race inspired cut. Built with lightweight 135 gsm fabric and an even more breathable 90gsm on the side panels, the polyester/spandex has Xylitol woven into the fabric for a cooling sensation they say helps reduce your core temp.

ENDURA

FS260-Pro SL Shell lifestyle

Endura FS260 Pro SL

Regardless of the time of year, a good waterproof shell is essential and Endura’s lightweight, fully seam sealed FS260-Pro SL Shell Jacket ($219.99) is equipped to do the trick while remaining extremely breathable. It has a gel pocket on one side as well as an (easy to get to) large zippered opening that gives you access to your jersey’s pockets. The FS260-Pro SL packs nicely into a jersey pocket and there is even a elastic cord in the collar to keep it packed neatly.

SHOWERS PASS

Showers Pass base layer graphite

Keeping dry is key to keeping both cool & warm as moisture amplifies both in a bad way. To help control this, Showers Pass‘ new Body-Mapped Base Layers are seamlessly constructed with a blend of merino wool, modal, coolmax, nylon & spandex. To further improve moisture control, the back and underarms have an open knit pattern to increase ventilation where it’s needed most.

Showers Pass base layer white

Both women’s and men’s are available in graphite or white and with sleeves ($55) or without ($49). We tested the long sleeve version for colder weather and it makes a great base layer.

Those Hincapie kits look great. But it may just be the model.
