Long a dominant force in cycling, Sidi Sport has had a lot of competition in recent years as more companies have stepped up their game to produce high performing, well-made cycling shoes. Sidi themselves have mostly made small iterative updates to their line for the last 2 or 3 years, but still can be found on the likes of last year’s Tour de France winner Chris Froome and XC World Champion Nino Schurter. Now to offer a bit of the custom look that the sponsored pros get, Sidi has introduced a new way to personalize most of their performance and premium shoes with more detail color options. Take a look across the fold at which shoes will get a personalized touch, plus a look at a Froome limited edition shoe…

A wide range of colorful Sidi parts and accessories are now available at through your local bike shop, to come up with an individual look for your shoes. Several of the options are so fast and easy to change that Sidi imagines some riders will even swap out parts to match your cycling kit.

One nice thing about the colorful bits is that they are available not just for the top-of-the-line shoes. On the road you can swap out straps and Boa dials on the Wire and Ergo 4, or on for the trail with the Drako and Dragon 4. The road Kaos and Genius 5 add in ratcheting buckle customization, also available for the mountain bike Cape and Eagle 5s.

To celebrate Chris Froome’s Tour win with Sky last year, Sidi have also put out a limited edition Blu Sky color of the Wire shoes he rode to that victory. They’re not likely to need much customization, but can also be found through any authorized Sidi retailer.

“a lot of competition in recent years as more companies have stepped up their game to produce high performing, well-made cycling shoes ” yeah whatever,but nobody does their Mega versions like they do. SIDI forver,I’ll never ever consider any other shoe. Specialized shoes ruined my feet for way too many miles..

Sidi is my favorite too but i like the narrow versions. The ergo 3 and the wires. I want to know which colors for the speedplay sole in 2016.

Love the Sidi shoes. One of the few still made in Italy

I might think about something besides Sidi’s if mine ever wear out. I’ve only had one pair of cycling shoes (Dominators) for the past 8 years. Before that, another pair of Dominators that lasted probably 6 years. The only thing I wish was different is the soles. Hard plastic soles on MTB shoes make for some sketchy hike-a-bike if it’s wet wood or rock…

4 pairs of SIDI in the closet. All the others I’ve used in the past fell apart, fitted badly or used sub par materials (despite being so called ‘high end). Other than considering the Giro Empire which I have yet to try (and maybe only because they look so comfy), my next pair will be…. SIDI. There’s just something about shoes made in Italy that…. work.

Echo you guys about the durability. I just put 15k miles on a pair of wires in one year. My rain shoes are the ergo 3 and have like 40k miles. Only had to replace one ratchet on those. Bad ass product. I wash them in the sink like dishes.

@Pit @Antipodean I’ve had a pair of basic Genisis 5.5 and done 35,000km with them in 4 years. They’re still in great shape and will probably last another 30,000km. Bought a pair of Kaos and they feel great. Next pair will be Wires

I just wish they would make Speedplay versions of their shoes in B L A C K.
Is that too much to ask?

Now that they are offering custom options they need to develop a proper wide shoe with a narrow heel and offer it as an option.
The mega is a turd.

That turd happens to fit my feet like a glove, John. And they last forever in abusive cyclocross conditions.

@VERGE,

If you need Sidi mega, you need Specialized WIDE.
You have to compare the same category.
