From the cold shores of Lake Michigan, Tenspeed Hero is giving a taste of a warm spring with their second annual TSH Resort collection. The Resort collection has developed in a chance for TSH to work with their resident graphic designer Lauren Ayers to add a bunch of color and a bit of whimsy into their regular line-up. Resort also seems to help them get through the winter in their cold Chicago home with thoughts of riding and training in warmer places. The new collection relies pretty heavily on vibrant color blocking with patterns like the Sprinkles above and Net, Quilt, and Flowers after the break. The new designs make their way onto jerseys and skinsuits for both men and women, plus a bunch of coordinated socks as well…

The TSH Resort 2016 kit is a playful collection with inspiration taken from grandma’s quilt, candy sprinkles, pop-art flowers, and fishing nets. Bright colors abound and will help lure you out of the winter doldrums and maybe motivate us all to get some more time on the bike.

In addition to fun and unique designs, the new Resort clothing also adds some fit improvements to the TSH line-up that come from their collaboration with regional men’s and women’s racing. The new jerseys get longer sleeves (except for the women-only Flower jerseys which stay short) for a more aero and modern fit, plus new stronger reinforced hidden zippers, and a new rear gripper that better resists bunching. Smaller women also get a better 2+1 pocket arrangement that makes them easier to access and more functional (sizes XS, S & M) vs. the 3+1 on the L & XL and men’s versions.

The TSH Resort 2016 collection adds 6 new jerseys, 2 sets of bibs, and 6 sock designs to Tenspeed Hero’s regular line. The Resort jerseys all sell for $150 for both men and women. The Red or Grey Sprinkles, Black Net, and Quilt are available for both men and women, while Green or Yellow Flowers are women-only. Men and women both get a Red Sprinkles skinsuit for $250, with women also getting a Grey Sprinkles option. To match the new kits there are unisex $15 socks now available in Black and Pink Sprinkles, Green and Celeste Flowers, and Blue and Yellow Net designs.

A couple of new colored bib shorts were also added to the TSH Team collection, gently pushing the color boundaries of black-shorts-only just a bit for $200 in dark Grey and Navy blue with wide black grippers.

Even if you are more into simple and solid color shorts and jerseys, the selection of quality cycling socks these days is such that there is always room for some individual expression. TSH’s Resort socks are a mid-length 6″ cuff style made in the US from what we believe to be a poly cotton blend, and are certain to add a little flash to your ride.

Tenspeed Hero aren’t afraid of a little color and continue to put out some interesting looking kits. Working together with regional and national men and women (and youths) racing cross and on the road, they seem to be putting together a lot of high performing, Made-in-Italy kit. By bringing together graphic artists, textile designers, photographers, competitive cyclists, and everyday riders it is pretty clear that they enjoy what they are doing; and in the end they put out some unique and cheerful looking designs that make us look forward to riding in warmer weather.

There are plenty more fun photos and stories behind each piece of kit to explore at:

This stuff seems like a parody of a bike clothing presentation, but I gather that it is in fact real?

Some of this is pretty nice albeit not very original. In 20 years time we would all be laughing at how this was a classic example of the mid 2010s hipster trend and how cliche everyone looks.

And in the next 20 years some fashion critic such as yourself is going to comment about hipsters and how cliche everyone looks, it never ends. Infinite loop.

Your socks should never be funnier than you are…
Seems like every season sock height creeps a centimeter higher.
Very, very soon we will achieve Kevin Costner / American Flyers level.

I take that back. Just pulled the movie up and we are way above Costner’s white tube sock level already. Oh the horror.
