Since it’s Super Bowl weekend, why not toss in the super bowl of bike racing… that most have not even heard of. In it’s heyday, Six Day racing was here in the US, Madison Square Garden was the main venue, and it was common to see big celebrities tossing in prime money! Six Day racing disappeared stateside between 1930 and 1950, but is (of course) still going strong in Europe. The Six Days Bremen is as much a party as it is six days of intense, sling-shotting racing. Disco ball, fire, several side shows & entertainment, with a short high-banked track thrown into the middle of it all, Six Day racing is as much an endurance event for the athletes as it is for the party’ers.

Check out this cool 360° video of Marcel Barth circling this years venue, (you can move it around, but is more fun to use your smartphone… or Oculus Rift). Plus Scott Sports’ Vincent Tupin plays in the snow, (no fat bikes this week), a pretty sweet set of trails in New Zealand getting some proper first-aid and Ground Effect’s products that bombed.

Freerider Vincent Tupin rips in the snow with no hands and no fat tires in this rad edit from Scott.

A couple of hours North of Christchurch NZ, the Wharfedale Track is a trail system nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Southern Alps. It’s is a natural trail that hadn’t had any good maintenance since the mid 80’s and the Folks at local based Ground Effect riding apparel and gear gathered some of their loyal customers and spent a few days patching it up.

Since Ground Effect sponsored and supported the trail work in the previous video, I thought this hilariously done edit of their company history and products that failed was alright.

Good videos. Being across the world, I never heard of Groundeffect before. Its a nice change to see a company show their failed products, some of which looked cool. Its all timing.
