Crankbrothers is pretty confident in their unique mountain bike wheel designs and just let us know of a short-term 100% satisfaction guarantee deal that they hope will let more riders try them out. So buy a set of wheels direct from them through this Friday, February 5th, and you get a no questions asked 90 day money-back guarantee. And to sweeten the deal, they are throwing in a double wheel bag for free to tote around the second wheelset you will now have. Check out the wheels on offer and a bit of their tech after the jump…

The wheels on offer are any level out of the Cobalt cross-country range, the Iodine all-mountain range, or the Opium downhill wheels. That covers price points from just $400 for a simple aluminum wheel up to $2300 for the carbon Cobalt 11s.

All of Crankbrothers wheels use a rim and spoke design also claims a low rotational inertia with more of the wheels’ mass near the hub for faster acceleration, with the side effect of a hole-free tubeless ready rim. They also get twinpair spoke tech designed to maximize strength and stiffness through equal triangulation, and get simple single-length spokes that can be easily trued on the bike.

If for any reason you aren’t completely satisfied send the mountain wheels back to Crankbrothers before your 90 days are up for a full refund of the purchase price (you’ll only be out shipping costs.) The one exclusion is crash damage, so we assume that as long as they are ridable they will take them back?

The wheel bag is the Highline Bag made by EVOC for Crankbrothers. The soft padded coated polyester bag is made to transport two wheels, up to 29ers. It usually sells for $90, but if you order a wheelset this week before the 5th with the 90 day money-back trial, they’ll throw it in for free. Just use code: “spin2016” at checkout for the deal.

Does CB have a epic failure record with these wheels?

Based on my experience with their pedals, 90 days is plenty of time for the bearings to explode and the hub to eat the axle.

Do they sell point of purchase display for rebuilt kits for the wheels?

It’s a odd design. A single spoke failure is actually double spoke failure because of the single anchor point. just not worthwhile investment or a safe one with kind of design!
