Rh+ is debuting and all new aero helmet that promises a better balance yet of aero gains and ventilation on the road. The new Z Alpha claims the highest level of ventilation ever in an aerodynamic helmet. The new helmet marks what rh+ calls a third generation design. They claim that most of the industry is making 2nd gen helmets that still compromise on ventilation…

The Z Alpha was designed both in the lab and wind tunnel so a better balance was made, and they claim to have come away with both improved aerodynamics and ventilation, then they took it out on the road for real world testing with Team Fundacion Contador.

The helmet gets a removable cover on the outside, and an optional MIPS liner inside for added safety. The cover speeds up air flow, as well as regulating ventilation through the helmet from front to back. That boosts aerodynamics, especially over 40 km/h. It also doubles to offer some protection from the elements, either cold or rain.

Suggested retail price for the Z Alpha with MIPS is £160.00, and non-MIPS version for £130.00.

All those so called aero helmets are nice but we won’t see the benefits of those dubious and marginal gains. What about spending more money into increasing protection instead ?

@Tomi: This one has got an available MIPS liner, so there’s definitely an increase in safety there.

@Tomi…They make more than one helmet model. You are free to not buy an aero helmet. Regardless what you think, they are only offering a competing model to what their competition is offering…That’s how the open market usually works. Props to them for attempting to make what they feel is an improvement on other models existing in the marketplace.
They already offer MIPS versions of many helmets. I suspect they, like most helmet companies, are striving to improve protection with each successive model. Seems like its time for you to start a helmet company to show us how its should be done.

gotta love forced context and terminology. Whoa, can’t wait to brag to my cycling buddies how I’m a whole generation ahead of them with my new Z-Alpha helmet
