Droppertastic! Lindarets’ ReMount for Shimano, SRAM brakes lets you stick the lever where you want it!

Even for those running a 1X setup and plenty of real estate on the bars, sometimes getting that dropper lever in just the right place and out of harms way is not all that easy. There have been some nifty conversions like Problem Solver’s not so quick fix to turn a SRAM shifter into a dropper lever, but ReMounts has a few solutions up their sleeves that are simple and inexpensive.

Drop past the break and check out where all you can put that pesky little lever now…

ReMount+MM+Bottom+1 Sram 3
SRAM Matchmaker ReMount.

Often when I’ve installed a dropper lever, it has an odd angle. Or it would fit perfect, if it I could put it exactly where I like my brake lever. Lindarets’ new ReMounts really open things up by giving you up to six mounting positions and an angle adjustment on the SRAM Matchmaker and Shimano Spec I & II units. The Shimano Spec A & B unit does not have the angle adjustment but that shouldn’t be a problem given the numerous options you have with this. These new versions also sit further forward than the Remount 22 we featured this past Spring keeping it out of the danger knee zone. The new Remounts are constructed of CNC machined 6061 aluminum with a Derlin boss & stainless hardware, and are 65-70% made in the USA.

Turtlehead,

Awesome- thanks! We worked on the position and aesthetics of all three for a long time-we have boxes full of prototypes-but it was worth it: the initial reaction has been fantastic.

I don’t understand whats wrong w/ using the regular mount? It works fine.

However i will say this is the best looking “match maker” I’ve seen thus far.

Can we please dispense with this nonsense in 2016? Please… “Drop past the break and check out where all you can put that pesky little lever now…”

Thanks Brian S. I was a little confused as to what website I was viewing when every comment was positive and on topic. Once I read your pointless rant I realized I was in fact reading Bikerumor.

This is a must get upgrade! The new reMount has so many positions the lever is right where I want it. I tried all the combinations with mine and I was surprised to find how many positions felt comfortable, but one was right where the lever should be for me. Marc, thanks for your hard work on this project, it’s an elegant solution that makes the great functionality of a dropper even better!

Prolapsed,

I recon that you should give it a go- it really does improve the ergonomics of most lever-type remotes (Thomson, KS, Specialized, Giant, etc.). So much so that the original was just named one of Outside Magazine’s ten best cycling products of 2015 and was named to Bikerumor Wil’s Christmas Wish List.

Oh- and there’s no risk: we have a 110 day, 110% satisfaction guarantee- just send it back if you don’t dig it.

Vincent,

Thanks! Feedback from you and our other prototype testers was invaluable and helped make the ReMounts as good as possible on launch. None of that Silicon Valley “minimum viable product” nonsense 😀

Re: “‘minimum viable product’ nonsense”. I don’t use dropper posts so this isn’t a product I would ever buy, but I like the cut of your jib, mate. Keep it coming.

Lindarets Have you tested any of the 9Point8 levers yet l

Mike,

Thanks! I’m sure that we’ll come up with something that you can use!

When starting Lindarets I did a lot of reading on entrepreneurship and startups- and the idea of releasing something-anything-to get user feedback (at their expense) struck me as cynical and, well, wrong. So we spend a lot of time and effort prototyping and testing our ideas- we’ll need to do a Facebook post at some point showing a pile of the ReMount prototypes.

Anthony,

You know- we haven’t. Their ThumB lever can already be switched to an under-bar lever, but it does sit a lot closer to the rider (further from the bar) than we tend to like them. PM me via the website if you’d like to give one a go.

Sorry but I fail to see the point of this. If you have a cable operated dropper why not just use the other shift lever with a little mod. Designed to fit the lever, adjustable better leverage ratios. And most of all about the same price.

Just seems like an add.

But then again what do I know.

Awesome-

Neat product shows up-

Inventor and company owner shows up to answer questions “in person”!

I might buy one just for that. I’m all about this guys passion for his products.

BLS,

Thanks! I as far as jobs go, designing and building bike parts is a whole lot more exciting than some of the other industries I’ve worked in. That leaves me more than happy to talk about it!

Graham,

Before 3D printing the first ReMounts, my intent was to hack a shifter- I’d just come off a Kronolog remote and the Specialized remote wasn’t doing it for me. But between not having a spare shifter at hand, the price of aftermarket remotes, and the desire for a more universal solution (especially for droppers whose cables fix at the remote) I landed on the ReMount.

Besides not needing to locate and hack a good shifter, there’s no need to re-run cables or change housing lengths- something that always seems to take longer than it should with Stealth droppers. The integrated ReMounts here take the original idea to the next level, for a super-clean install.

If I’d had a front shifter handy that I wasn’t worried about bricking, I probably would have gone for it. But given how well the ReMount has been received I’m glad that I didn’t.

Lindarets I almost purchased the V1 in December but I knew that something better should come for the Thomson lever (the worst lever to adapt in under bar position because the wire attachment in the seatpost and not in the lever itself), I’m glad that this will match what I want and for sure will pull the trigger on this now… Keep going mate and I hope that you come with many more hacks, cheers.

Fabricio,

Awesome! I look forward to getting your ReMount out to you- all models are in stock as of today!
