If you’ve been using The Sufferfest’s streaming video subscription plan, you’re indoor misery is about to get a lot better. Coming at the end of the month is an all-new version built with the help of a former Trainer Road developer that’ll sync with your heart rate monitor, cadence sensor and other external devices and show that data on screen.

And that data will be color coded so you know at a glance if you’re on target, running hot or falling off the back. All that’s going on while the video shows up bigger and better than ever, even letting you cache videos on your device for those times when the Internet service sucks (like, when you’re a Time Warner customer…) or non-existent (also sometimes as a Time Warner customer). The app also adds smart trainer control, adjusting resistance based on the video’s workout, or calculated estimated power for non-smart trainers using a database of known resistance coupled with the cadence and speed data from your Bluetooth sensors.

When you’re finished suffering, it’ll let you upload your activity to Strava and TrainingPeaks. It even syncs your accomplishments within The Sufferfest app across all of your iOS devices. The streaming plan runs just $10 (£8) per month, available at TheSufferfest.com.

+1 for crappy Time Warner / Charter services. So frustrating. I want Google Fiber.
On a related note: Does this work with power (assuming it’s BT)? Also, any word on this working on anything besides iOS? I’m not finding any info on their website.

Hey boom,
Yes, Bluetooth Smart power meters are supported. ANT+ is also supported with the Wahoo ANT key. iOS is the first platform. OS X, Windows, and Android will follow.
