As RAD celebrates its 30th anniversary, GT Bicycles was lucky enough to have a fan reach out to say they had a restored Pro Freestyle like the one in the movie and ask if they’d be interested in displaying it in their Interbike booth. Sure, why not, right? But sight unseen, expectations were cautiously optimistic. No one had any idea it would be a damn perfect replica of the 1986 bike from the movie.

Check out a few detail pics and other highlights from their BMX line, below…

The original cast members were on site to celebrate the movie’s anniversary and signed the frame, as did the legendary Hans Rey, who will celebrate 30 years with GT in 2016. Click to enlarge any of the pics and take a little time warp back to the ’80s.

The BK XL is a chromoly tubed, left hand drive street bike with 20″ wheels that’s just $399.

The Carbon Speed Series only comes as a frame if you want the composite tubes, but they had it built up with a  premium set of Box components.

This one’s for racing only, not freestyle, but it’s looks would be right at home on the street. Frame retail is $1,420.

For the littlest of tricksters, the Mach One balance bike gets ’em off to an early start. It’s available in 16″ and 12″ wheels for $205 and $130, respectively.

Wrong model year. Not even close. The pink GT pictured is the double bent down tube, the total redesign. The GTs in Rad had a singe bent downtube, etc. This looks like a 1987. Rad came out in ’86. Since movies are made quite a bit prior to release, 1985 models could have been used. Nice bike, though. They all look good.

Nice to see some 20″ love from GT, that Speed Series looks like a rocket!

@kingcounty. The alteration of the bent tube from year to year was marketing, but the color is indeed RAD! and Gt should bring it back.

Love the platform and pegs flashback! I had those….enabled three to ride a bike meant for one. We crashed too, over and over and over to hilarious effect. It was awesome times.

My first bike was a blue Performer, not even 20in, probably a Performer Jr.

Gotta love the 80’s.

a ’86 petrol blue pro performer with all the pegs and tuff wheels (from skyway, i think) brought me at the end into mtb riding…
